As Yorkshire catches its breath after staging a superb Grande Départ of the 2014 Tour de France, we couldn’t let such an historic weekend pass without sharing a few photos of our favourite vehicles that formed part of the publicity caravan.
The caravan is a convoy of more than 150 branded vehicles that precedes the cyclists at each stage, doling out promotional merchandise including hats, stationery and sweets.
Robinsons’ Fruit Shoot vehicle prompted the second loudest cheer of the day, surpassed only by the Yorkshire Tea lorry. Much to our dismay, goodies were thin on the ground and we had to seek our own refreshment at the nearby George & Dragon in Aysgarth after the race.
